Photographer exploring individuality,
colour and visual storytelling

Stories have always fascinated me. Telling someone’s story means stepping for a moment into their world — discovering fragments of their experiences and sharing a glimpse of that with others.

I’ve always been easily distracted by visual details. Colour combinations, people passing by on the street, interiors, film scenes, art, gestures. These small observations constantly catch my attention and often become the starting point for my work. People-watching in particular is something I love. Everyone carries a certain individuality, and noticing those subtle differences is endlessly inspiring to me.

You will often find strong, bold colours in my images. They are part of my visual language and probably also a reflection of where I come from. I was born and raised in Brazil, the daughter of Dutch parents with Indonesian roots, and this mix of cultures continues to shape the way I see and interpret the world around me.

My career began as a graphic designer in 1997, and that background still influences the way I approach photography today — with a strong sensitivity to composition, colour and visual balance. In 2010 I decided to fully dedicate myself to photography and studied at the Fotoacademie Amsterdam, graduating with a BA in Photography in 2014. In 2016 I continued my professional development through the Mastered programme with photographer Nick Knight.

Through my photography I aim to create images that carry a sense of atmosphere and narrative — photographs that reveal character, evoke emotion and invite viewers to look a little longer.

I’m currently based in Barcelona and work internationally with brands, magazines, creative agencies and independent clients.
